About Mary Casey

Mary Casey started her camp nursing career in 1954 at Camp Ahshunyoong, Ontario. Mary went on to be the nurse at several Easter Seals camps. This was followed by an invitation to serve as the Health Consultant at Camp Big Canoe (formerly Camp Ahshunyoong). The lack of written material to guide health care and nursing at camp prompted her to write her first book, The Nurse and the Health Program at Camp in 1978. Her most recent book, Camp Nursing: Circles of Care, was released by Volumes, Waterloo in 2008.
